Step 1: Install Google Pay App from Google Play Store

So at first you need to Install Google Pay App from the Google Play Store in your android smartphone, for that you first need to open your App Store by a simple tap on the app icon and search for Google Pay.

Then simply install Google Pay: Secure UPI Payment App from Google Play Store in your android device. In case you have already installed this app earlier then you can skip this step.

Step 2: Enter your Phone Number To Login

Since you have installed Google Pay app on your smartphone so now you need to register your account by entering your 10 digit mobile number

( Please Note: The entered mobile number should be linked to your bank account and also its sim should be active in your smartphone, ).

Once entered simply click on next.

In the next step you need to link your Google Account with your Google Pay app, as shown below;

In case you do not have a google account so you can simply create one and then select that account in the app. Then select Accept & Continue, so by continuing you agree to the Combined Google Pay Terms & Privacy Policy.

Once you continue then Google Pay will send an OTP to your registered mobile number,

So all you need to do is just enter that OTP to verify your number and your G pay account will setup successfully.

Step 4: Activate your Bank Account To Enable Payments

In the next screen you can activate your bank account to your Google Pay as shown below;

It will show your linked bank accounts if you have already used Google Pay services earlier but if you are new to Google Pay then you can either activate your bank account by selecting “Activate my Account” option or simply select “Now now” option so that you can do it in the later stages.

Step 5: Start using Google Pay for Payments

So after performing all the above steps your Google Pay account will setup and now every time you’ll login to your app you will see the land on the screen as shown below;

Please note: It is mandatory to activate your bank account before you can start sending and receiving payments from Google Pay through your bank account. To activate your bank account you just need to select Activate Bank Account option in the app and select your bank that you want to link to Gpay.

In the next stage you may need to enter your bank account details if not linked earlier and then for verification SMS will be sent from your registered mobile number and if successful then your bank account will be linked successfully with Google Pay

  2. Pay Contacts: Select this option if you want to quickly send payments to someone in your phone contact list.
  3. Pay Phone Number: Select this option if you want to send payment using phone number which is not in your contact list but you need to make sure that this number is also using Google Pay.
  4. Bank Transfer: Select this option if you want to send payment to directly to bank account. For this you will need bank account details of your beneficiary like Bank Account Number, Bank Name, IFSC Code and more.
  5. Pay UPI ID or Number: Select this option if you want to send instant payments to someone’s UPI ID or Phone number. All you need to do is simply add user’s UPI ID or phone number, enter amount and send payment.
  6. Self Transfer: If you have multiple bank accounts and want to manage payments between your self accounts then you can choose this option. With this option you can also check your account balances in your accounts.
  7. Pay Bills: Select this option to pay and manage your monthly bills whether it is Electricity Bill, Postpaid mobile, Broadband bill, Gas Cylinder Booking etc.
  8. Mobile Recharge: Simply Select this option to recharge your mobile phone.
